Biography

As a Partner and the Head of Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice at CVML, Hisham Oweiss guides clients through the intersection of innovation, regulation, and finance. He specializes in helping regional and multinational players navigate complex cross-border matters in fintech, digital assets, and corporate transactions across the UAE and GCC.
What defines his practice is the diversity of his clientele. He is equally at home advising high-net-worth individuals, celebrities and family offices on their digital asset strategies as he is helping technology giants and other institutions structure licensed operations and M&A transactions. His deep, hands-on experience with the region's key regulatory frameworks, including DED, ADGM, DIFC, and other Free Zones allows him to provide pragmatic counsel on everything from tokenization projects to commercial disputes born from emerging tech.
Hisham's strategic perspective is sharpened by his prior role as Head of Legal and Compliance for Samsung in the Middle East and North Africa, giving him an insider's understanding of the operational and regulatory challenges global companies face. He is licensed to practice as a legal consultant in the UAE and he holds a LLM in Public International Law, he is positioned to help clients not just understand the law, but to use it as a foundation for growth.
