Engaging with brokers and insurers

Insurance brokers and insurers play a central role in the claims process, and early engagement can help ensure that coverage issues are addressed effectively.

Businesses may wish to:

  • notify brokers and insurers promptly and in writing
  • confirm that notifications have been formally acknowledged
  • ensure that all relevant insurers have been notified where multiple policies may apply
  • appoint a single internal point of contact to manage communications

Where insurers issue reservation of rights letters or request additional information, early legal advice can often help organisations respond effectively.

In some circumstances, disputes may arise regarding coverage or claims handling. Understanding the dispute resolution mechanisms available under the policy, including regulatory complaints procedures or arbitration provisions, can be important.

CVML regularly advises clients on insurance coverage disputes, insurer engagement strategies and claims management across the Middle East.
